Keep your learner focused on the positive! These Visual Reinforcement Cards help learners know moment by moment how their work is leading to a positive outcome. Learners exchange the Break Card when they need to pause their participation in an activity and the Help Card when they need assistance. Teachers and caregivers give a learner the Wait Card when they need the learner to pause. The card acts as a promissory note! Two sizes of visual reinforcement (token cards) systems are included to encourage learners to participate in activities for longer periods of time. When first introducing the system, we recommend beginning with the set of 5, Large Visual Reinforcement Cards (15.2cm x 12.1cm). The cards start with a single token and increase to a 5-token card. For the more experienced learner, we use the set of 3, Small Visual Reinforcement Cards (11.4cm x 5.7cm). These start with three tokens and increase to a 5-token card. All made of a durable poly-plastic material, the kit comes complete with a set of 10 Break Cards (5.1cm x 6.4cm), a Wait Card (14cm x 12.7cm), Help Card (5.7cm x 3.8cm) and a supply of tokens. VELCOIN® Brand hook and loop fasteners are added for self-assembly. You may use the tokens provided or any other type of token you deem appropriate for your learner(s).
