A fascinating, enjoyable course with a huge amount of practical information that I can’t wait to take back into practice.
Attendee, Guide to Managing Challenging Behaviours, Glasgow
Behaviour problems are one of the most challenging issues we face with autism and other developmental disabilities. For many behaviour challenges our first instinct is to ask “How do I get this to stop?” This question may lead to implementing short term fixes rather than developing long term solutions. At Pyramid, we recognize the importance of developing the crucial skills our learners need to actually replace unwanted behaviours with an action that is equally effective for them. Using the principles of applied behaviour analysis, we emphasize the use of systematic reinforcement and instruction in functional activities and communication skills in order to decrease the targeted behaviours. Our workshops and onsite support offer the help you need to prevent contextually inappropriate behaviours in the first place and to react systematically to reduce them when they do occur.
